PATHE Academy, the People’s Academy for Tertiary and Higher Education, was established with the Vision under the guidance of the Mahinda Chinthiyana to be the leader in career oriented education in the country. The mission is to provide excellence in teaching, training and carrier education needs of the country while being responsive to on going changes, well- being and needs of the student communities and people of Sri Lanka.

Professions Supplementary to medicine which comes under the Faculty of Medicine, offers Higher Diploma certificates as well as Certificate courses in the following career oriented disciplines within the faculty of medicine: 

• Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), 
• General Nursing, 
• Pharmacy, 
• Physiotherapy, 
• Radiography. 

The Demand for Professionals Supplementary to medicine in our country is on the increase in both the government and private sector. Recognizing this need PATHE Academy has taken a giant stride in promoting Professions Supplementary to medicine courses in Sri Lanka.
